World Cup Athletes Visit Maine Handicapped Skiing
Taking time from their busy competition schedule at Sunday River Ski Resort members of the US Snowboard Cross Team visited Maine Handicapped Skiing. Friday afternoon team members Seth Wescott, Graham Watanabe, Patrick Holland and Jonathan Cheever were enthusiastically greeted by participants, volunteers and staff at MHS’s headquarters located off the Sundance Trail at Sunday River. The team members signed autographs, posed for photographs, swapped stories and shared their passion of winter sports.
MHS participants and volunteers were thrilled to be able to meet team members and speak with them about riding and skiing. Meeting athletes who perform at the skill level of US Snowboard Cross Team showed everyone what is possible with hard work, determination and the love of a sport.
MHS is Maine’s largest year-round adaptive recreation organization serving over 350 children and adults with physical disabilities each year. For more information on Maine Handicapped Skiing and its offerings visit www.skimhs.org, email info@skimhs.org or call 800-639-7770.
