Summer Programs
Check out the details of our Summer Programs below
Summer time at Maine Handicapped Skiing—kayaking,
canoeing, golf and cycling—sports bursting with
activity and challenges for children and adults with
physical disabilities. MHS offers lessons in
paddling, golf and cycling June through August in
central and southern Maine, all free of charge.
Taking part in summer sports give our participants an opportunity to learn new skills, build up their physical strength and have a great time in the outdoors with friends and family members.
2010 Summer Sponsorship Opportunities:
Like all of the programs at MHS, we would be unable to offer paddling, cycling and golf to participants for free without the generous support of our volunteers and sponsors. Specific sponsorship opportunities this Summer include:
- $780 covers all the costs of a day of flatwater paddling at Range Pond with our participants (or $60 sponsors one boat for the day).
- $500 covers all the costs of providing 10 specialized adaptive cycles for a day of riding with our participants (or $50 per cycle).
- $400 covers all the costs of a day of downriver paddling on the Androscoggin River with our participants (or $40 per boat).
- $500 covers all the greens fees for a season of golf for our participants (or $50 per day).
